Ingredients
Prickly pear seed oil
Extracted from the tiny seeds of the prickly pear cactus fruit, this is one of Morocco's most labour-intensive oils — it takes close to a tonne of fruit to yield a litre. Long valued for skin repair, it is now used in high-value facial serums and eye care for its vitamin E and linoleic acid content. We supply cold-pressed, first-extraction oil, traceable per batch.

Sourcing approach
Sourcing approach
Prickly pear seed oil is sourced from our vetted producer network across Morocco’s primary ingredient regions. We visit suppliers in person, verify every certification against the issuing registry rather than the copy on the wall, and attach a lot traceability record to each shipment that links the source to the containers you receive.
Because the oil’s value invites dilution, independent laboratory verification — a GC-FID fatty-acid profile — is available as a standard add-on, appended to the documentation pack as third-party assurance. Specific producer identities are disclosed under engagement, never published.
Frequently asked
Common questions
Why is prickly pear seed oil so much more expensive than other oils?
Yield. It takes close to a tonne of prickly pear fruit, and the laborious separation and pressing of the small seeds, to produce a single litre of oil. The price reflects raw-material volume and labour, not a margin we add — and it is why the oil is sold in 1 L and 5 L formats rather than drums.
What does first-press extraction mean for quality?
First-press, cold-extracted oil retains the highest level of the vitamin E (tocopherols) and unsaturated fatty acids that make the oil valuable in facial care. Subsequent presses yield more oil but a weaker profile. We supply first-extraction oil and can confirm the profile by lab analysis.
Which certifications are available?
ECOCERT and USDA Organic, verified against the issuing registry before shipment. Certification copies travel with the documentation pack.
What is the shelf life, and how should it be stored?
Stored cool, dark, and sealed, cold-pressed prickly pear seed oil typically holds its profile for around 18–24 months. Its naturally high tocopherol content helps resist oxidation. Storage guidance and the batch's parameters are set out on the COA.
What is the typical minimum order quantity?
From 1 L, given the oil's value per litre, with 5 L and 25 L formats for repeat supply. The workable minimum for your certification and packaging is confirmed on the discovery call.
Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes — a Certificate of Analysis per batch, signed by our QC officer, covering the fatty-acid profile, acid and peroxide values, and the parameters relevant to your formulation.
